Sophie Kemp

I offer individual counselling and relationship counselling to adults, working both face-to-face and online. I also work as a clinical supervisor with individuals and groups. This includes working with qualified counsellors, trainee counsellors and others in the helping professions. I am BACP registered and accredited and have worked therapeutically with a wide range of people and issues since 2004.

I trained at the University of East Anglia (UEA) in the Person Centred approach. Since that time I have continued my professional development with a variety of additional courses.

After my initial training I worked as an addictions counsellor for over 12 years in organisations supporting clients with often challenging and complex drug and alcohol problems. In 2018 I trained as a supervisor and have since worked full time running my own private practice.

In addition to working with experienced supervisees I currently supervise trainee counsellors on placements, which include an addictions agency and a charity working with sexual abuse. I also work with staff in primary schools, particularly around safeguarding issues.

I have been a tutor on Person Centred Counselling training courses at introductory, certificate and diploma level. My previous role was as a social researcher at the Institute of Education, University of London. The projects I was involved in focussed on inequalities in education in relation to class, race and sexuality
